Troy Farlow is a native Virginian, born and raised in Craddockville, a small town on Virginia’s beautiful Eastern Shore. He received his high school diploma from Broadwater Academy and went on to college at Elon University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Upon returning home to Virginia, Troy worked for many years as a management consultant with Information Technology Solutions and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In response to the events of September 11, 2001, Troy left graduate school at Duke University and moved to New York City to volunteer with Sandler O’Neil, a small investment-banking firm that lost nearly half its staff in the World Trade Center attacks. He eventually went to work as an investment banker in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions group before returning home to Virginia.

With over a decade of valuable real-world experience under his belt, Troy settled on the Eastern Shore and started his own small business, a home improvement and painting company. Working all over the Eastern Shore, Troy’s venture gave him an opportunity to become more active in his community and engage in one of his life-long passions: public service.

In the hopes of improving his community, Troy worked on the successful campaign of Virginia State Delegate Lynwood Lewis (HD – 100 th), and served as his legislative assistant during the 2004 Virginia General Assembly. Seeking to continue his service, Troy remains active in numerous community and business organizations, including the Virginia Economic Developers Association and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance.

In November 2006, Troy married Dr. Laura Kerbin, a practicing oncologist in the Williamsburg area. Troy and Laura are members of Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown and make their home in the Queens Lake area of York County with their cocker spaniel Casey.
